On Monday....

Hello 6th Grade!

I hope you ate a lot of turkey, I know I did!

I have to say that I am very proud on how all of your performed on the trimester test and your final grade for the trimester. You are all bright individuals with a great future ahead of you.

When we return on Monday we will be continuing on DBQs and then start on world religions.

Here is an example document that we will do in class.

Document #1

Ancient Egyptians referred to their king as a pharaoh. What follows is a description of the role of a pharaoh, found on a tomb:

“[A pharaoh] is a god by whose dealings one lives, the father and mother of all... without an equal.”

Based on the quotation, what did ancient Egyptians believe made the pharaoh such a special person?

You can do this ahead of time, but we will go over it in class.

Have a restful weekend all!

The Time is Coming....

Hello,

Your test is about 36 hours away and I hope very much that all of you have been studying. This test has very easy and very challeneging parts.  To ease your stress I have found a prayer for you, in hopes that it will lessen your stress.

Lord Jesus,
Being fully human, as well as fully divine,
you know the pressures and stress that I face right now.
I ask that you guide me as I take this test,
so that I may do my best.
Help me to use the knowledge I have gained,
in this class and all my classes
to build up your kingdom,
for the good of all people. Amen
David Bennett

I am here every step of the way with you.
